How to prevent cyber attacks: Advice from Conscensia’s Security Manager
26. June 2024
In today’s digital age, cyber security is more critical than ever. At Conscensia, we understand how important it is to protect your data and systems.

Our dedicated Security Manager, Andriy, is constantly improving our security measures to stay ahead of potential threats. Here are some key tips from our expert to help you protect your business:
Regularly update software and systems
Keeping your software and systems up to date is crucial. It ensures you have the latest security updates and fixes vulnerabilities that hackers can exploit.
Implement strong authentication methods
Use strong, unique passwords and change them regularly. Multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security, making it a must-have.
Educate employees on cybersecurity
Conduct regular training sessions to educate employees on phishing, social engineering and other common cyber threats. Awareness can prevent many attacks before they happen. At Conscensia, training starts from the very first day for the newcomer. Every month we offer new training sessions to keep our employees updated on the latest threats and prevention strategies. In addition, we have our annual Cyber Security Awareness Day on October 31st, which is celebrated in all our offices. During this event, we conduct extensive training, provide additional education, and create a fun and engaging environment with food and drinks to reinforce the importance of cyber security.
Regular safety audits
Regular security audits help identify and address potential vulnerabilities. Our Security Manager recommends scheduling these audits every year. At Conscensia, we conduct annual security audits and penetration tests.

Use advanced security solutions
Deploy advanced security solutions like Endpoint Detection Response (EDR), NG firewalls, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), antivirus and antimalware software, endpoint encryption, data loss prevention, network segmentation, etc. These tools can detect and mitigate threats in real-time.
Back up data regularly
Regular backups ensure that your data can be recovered in the event of an attack. Make sure backups are stored securely and tested at regular intervals.
Create an emergency response plan and other security policies
It is important to have a well-defined incident response plan. This plan should outline the steps to take in the event of a security breach to minimize damage and recover quickly. It is crucial to have basic security policies in place, including an information security policy, password management policy, access control policy, network security policy, remote access policy, bring your own device policy, backup policy and patch management policy. At Conscensia, we strive to implement all these best practices. Our Security Manager always follows the latest trends in cybersecurity to ensure we are using the most effective strategies. He notes:
“We have recently implemented password-less authentication methods throughout the organization, which is in line with the current trend to increase security while improving the user experience.”
This method reduces the risks associated with traditional passwords, such as phishing and credential stuffing attacks. In addition, we are exploring the possibility of incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into our cybersecurity framework. By following our tips, you can significantly reduce the risk of cyberattacks and protect your company’s valuable assets. At Conscensia, we are not only focused on developing high-quality software; we are committed to ensuring your security is robust and up-to-date.
