ESG in nearshoring setup – a shared responsibility for social and ethical standards

As a nearshoring company connecting primarily Nordic companies with IT talent in Poland, Ukraine and Portugal, we contribute to global collaborations that also require accountability and transparency. ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) is an important agenda for all European companies, and our role as a link in the value chain means we have a special obligation to ensure proper social and governance conditions.

Environment (E)

In our contribution to our customers’ ESG reporting, we take a closer look at the most important areas within S and G and how they affect both us and our customers. We do not have any significant environmental impact and allow ourselves to disregard this aspect of ESG reporting.

Social conditions (S)

When IT talent in other countries becomes part of a Nordic company’s everyday life, we must ensure that relationships, well-being and working conditions meet consistent, high standards – regardless of location. Some of the key areas are:

Working conditions and well-being

Working hours and holidays: Complying with local regulations and ensuring fair contracts and conditions.

Health and safety: Taking care of the working environment, both physical and mental, in our collaboration with offices in Poland, Ukraine and Portugal.

Social engagement: Promoting unity across countries and cultures through team activities, feedback cultures and continuous dialog.

Diversity and inclusion

Recruitment: Focus on equal opportunities and objective criteria when hiring.

Cultural understanding: Training and respect for cultural differences so that all employees feel valued.

Equal Pay: Continuous assessment of salary levels in relation to local market value and actual competence to ensure equal pay for equal work.

Further training and competence development

Career paths: Continuous evaluation of employees’ skills and ambitions, as well as opportunities for further training.

Mentoring: Support for both professional and personal development, regardless of physical location.

Governance and transparency (G)

As a nearshoring supplier, we have direct influence on governance, processes and principles that must work across different countries. This is crucial to meet both our own and our customers’ expectations of governance.

Ethical guidelines and code of conduct

Anti-corruption and bribery: Clear guidelines for cooperation with authorities, subcontractors and partners.

Data protection: Compliance with GDPR and similar legislation, and focus on data security in development processes.

Whistleblower scheme: Confidential reporting of irregularities to ensure integrity and trust.

Transparency in collaboration

Contractual terms: Transparent agreements that clarify roles, responsibilities and delivery.

Reporting and evaluation: Regular follow-up on KPIs, project status and employee satisfaction gives customers peace of mind.

Local compliance requirements: Continuous monitoring and adaptation to national regulations in Poland, Ukraine and Portugal, as well as EU regulations.

Risk management and guidelines

Quality assurance: Standardized processes (e.g. ISO, SOC 2) to reduce errors and increase robustness of deliveries.

Conflict management: Clear procedures for resolving internal and external disagreements.

Business ethics: Management and the board must continuously ensure that strategic choices and partnerships are in line with ethical principles and market expectations.

What does it mean to you?

By focusing on the social (S) and governance (G) principles in our nearshoring setup, we can deliver a safe, stable and value-driven solution for you. For companies that are already subject to, or expect to become subject to, the EU’s ESG reporting requirements, this means a smooth integration of nearshore resources into your ESG strategy. This makes the collaboration not only a financial and competence advantage, but also a positive contribution to the companies’ overall social and ethical profile.
